The views have to be the highlight of this home. Situated on a hill overlooking pastures and woods to the West, the home is oriented to capture both warmth from the South and the sunset in the west.

Discovery Junction

The main pavilion, with a raised stage in the center and a wing on either side, is a post and beam structure built using local hemlock. The timber framing, including the trusses, was done in our shop and transported to the site for final assembly.

This home is constructed with hempcrete. Hempcrete is a biocomposite material composed of hemp fiber and a lime based binder. For more detailed information on hempcrete see our blog post.

Judyville

Building the suspended glulam staircase was an interesting design challenge that we think turned out really well. The solid glulam stringer and treads add a rich element to the great room.
